LOUISVILLE WOMAN PLEADS GUILTY TO BEING GETAWAY DRIVER FOR BANK ROBBERY LOUISVILLE, KY - Jessica R. Herren, age 26, of Louisville, Kentucky, pled guilty to aiding and abetting bank robbery, David L. Huber, United States Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky, announced today. Herren pled guilty without a Plea Agreement. In open court, she admitted that on January 11, 2006, she and co-defendant Ralph W. Cain robbed the PNC Bank located at 5500 Preston Highway, Louisville, Kentucky. During the course of the robbery, Cain took $3,943.00. Herren was the getaway driver for the robbery and did not enter the bank. Herren also admitted that she has been convicted of helping Cain rob banks in Somerset, Kentucky. She is currently serving a sentence for those robberies. Herren faces maximum potential penalties of 25 years’ imprisonment, a $ 250,000.00 fine, and 5 years of supervised release. Assistant United States Attorney Randy Ream prosecuted the case. The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation. The plea was entered before Charles R. Simpson, III, Judge, United States District Court, Louisville, Kentucky. Cain is scheduled for trial on April 15, 2008, in Louisville, Kentucky. Judge Simpson will schedule a sentencing date for Herren after the conclusion of Cain's trial.
